Photos show the dramatic moment a car crash landed on the roof of a woman’s house earlier this morning.
Silver Lighthowler says she was pottering around her kitchen in Norton, Stockton, at about 10am when she heard an almighty crashing sound.
Venturing outside she was shocked to see four men climbing out of a car that had landed on top of her garage.
The men appeared to be arguing between themselves and with someone on a neighbouring road before fleeing the scene.
She told The Northern Echo: ‘I was in my kitchen and I saw some wood fly past the window and I heard a bang.
‘I did actually think there had been a crash at the top, because it sometimes does happen.
‘When I came out there was a car on the roof of my garage. Four men got out of it and they were all screaming and shouting among each other and threatening somebody who was on the main road.’
Ms Lighthowler swiftly called emergency services, who sent an ambulance, the fire brigade and several police vehicles to the scene.
She added: ‘I am still in shock. Nobody was injured. I don’t know how they got out of it alive to be fair, because I think they must have flipped the car.
‘I think they were so wound up about the situation, because they said they had been run off the road – that someone else had tried to run them off the road.
‘They were screaming and shouting and threatening each other outside my house.’
The vehicle not only caused significant damaged the roof of Ms Lighthowler’s garage but also another car parked in her driveway.
‘I’m not happy,’ she said. ‘It’s not how I thought our Saturday would go.’
