A teenager has appeared in court accused of attempted murder.
The 16-year-old boy, who can’t be named for legal reasons, appeared at Exeter magistrates court earlier this afternoon.
He’s charged with three offences relating to alleged assaults at Blundell’s School in Tiverton, Devon, on Friday (June 9).
The boy is accused of two counts of attempted murder relating to two youths, who also can’t be named, and one count of grievous bodily harm with intent against Henry Roffe-Silvester, a school staff member.
He’s been remanded in custody and will appear at Exeter crown court tomorrow.
District Judge Stuart Smith told him: ‘Your case is going to be sent to the crown court at Exeter. You will appear at the crown court tomorrow.
‘I am going to remand you to youth detention accommodation overnight.’
The boy spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth during the hearing.
He nodded when the judge asked him if he understood proceedings.
