Stormy Daniels has urged Donald Trump to ‘just tell the truth’ about their alleged affair before ‘a lot of people get hurt’.
The former adult actress sat down with Piers Morgan to tell her side of the story following Trump’s historic court appearance in New York this week.
During the 90-minute interview she described feeling like ‘the King has been dethroned’ and the ex-President was ‘no longer untouchable’ when she saw him before a judge.
She also reveals she’s a registered Republican and says she doesn’t think his alleged crimes in relation to her ‘are worthy of incarceration’.
But she described the laws permitting Trump to serve a second time from a prison cell as ‘absurd’, adding: That just seems like beyond my comprehension, but I guess they never thought they would have to make that rule.’
Ms Daniels said she found out he had been indicted from her lawyer – ironically while riding her horse, named Redemption, prompting Morgan to point out: ‘You couldn’t make this up.’
She said of her reaction: ‘I was, you know, just ecstatic. You know, like, it’s moving forward, finally. There’s light at the end of the tunnel, so I was very excited and happy.’
Morgan went on: ‘After, he’s called you a liar. A lot of people believe you lied. And this would be the vindication for you,’ to which she replied: ‘Right.’
But the supportive messages quickly gave way to ‘horrific’ hate-filled ones, she said, adding that they came through from ‘everywhere – phone calls, texts, emails, social’.
She continued: ‘So, the first time around it was mostly just “liar”, you know, “skank”, “whore”, that kind of stuff, “gold-digger”, you just made the story up because he’s President.
‘That was the tone. You know what I mean? And, I would say out of, realistically probably one 100 messages, included some sort of death threat. You know what I mean?
‘And they would always be from like an account that somebody created just to do that, no followers, hidden, you know, that kind of thing.
‘Now, it’s different. The tone is different. I would say it’s one in 10 now. And they are way more specific and graphic.
‘Instead of some babbling person, like, “You’re gonna burn in hell”, that kind of thing, they seem to be more… serious, I guess in a way.
‘The first time around he was already in office. You know what I mean? Like, there’s nothing I can really do to hurt him.
‘What am I gonna do? He’d already, made, gotten the nomination and all that stuff.
‘So, this time around, they think it could actually hurt him. This time around he got indicted. He could not become president. You know a lot of people were…’
Morgan interjected: ‘You could stop him getting back to the White House.’
Ms Daniels added: ‘Right. And worse, partially be responsible for him, you know,’ before Morgan steps in again: ‘Going to jail.’
Asked if she wishes she never met Trump back in 2006, she said: ‘Of course.’
Morgan pointed out that at the time she was 27 and the biggest adult actress in the world coming off the back of an appearance in The 40-Year-Old Virgin.
Ms Daniels told him she ‘didn’t have a hard opinion one way or another’ about the then-60-year-old Trump, adding: ‘I mean, I wasn’t a fan, and I wasn’t not a fan, you know what I mean?’
The pair met at a golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, California, where she joked that an adult film company had ‘sponsored a hole’.
She said they ended up in a golf cart together where she ‘didn’t get a word it’ and he got one of his bodyguards to ask for her number at a gifting suite later.
Ms Daniels told Morgan she was invited up to Trump’s penthouse suite ‘to have dinner to talk about a business thing’ – the first series of Celebrity Apprentice, adding she ‘didn’t even see the bedroom at all for three hours’.
She said: ‘He still owes me dinner. I never got my dinner or what I was there for the meeting about. I got nothing except this shit show.’
Asked if she was attracted to Trump, she said: ‘No. No. Eww. No. I was banging some hot celebrities.’
She also revealed she poked fun at his ‘trademark’ hair, adding: ‘He asked me something. He goes, “I want to ask you a question and it might be rude”.
‘So, I was gearing up for some sort of sex question, you know what I mean? And it wasn’t. It was a question about, I think, how much we get paid for a scene. And I was like, “oh, that’s not offensive”.
‘And I answered his question and explained the different pay brackets and men versus women and sex acts and whatever. And he was like, “Oh”.
‘I was like, “I want to ask you a question that is offensive”. And he goes, “okay”. I go, “what’s up with the hair?” Like, you have to know.
‘He goes, “it’s kind of my trademark”. He goes, “that’s a big thing”. I always have these people wanting to give me a makeover, and I was like, “oh, so this is a choice?” He was like, “yeah”. It’s my trademark. And I was like, “oh, like Samson?”
‘That’s how that conversation went.’
Ms Daniels told Morgan: ‘He also wasn’t leering or flirting. There was no footsie under the table. I mean when I was talking to him, he wasn’t staring at my… you know what I mean? It didn’t feel creepy at all.’
But she said it all changed when she went to the restroom and came back to fine Trump ‘doing the world’s worst Burt Reynolds impression’.
She said she left ‘within five minutes’ of them having sex, adding she felt ‘nauseous’ and ‘mad at myself’.
Morgan said: ‘You asked him on that first night about his wife, Melania. They’d only been married quite recently. She’d just given birth to their son. What did you feel about that?
‘You’ve been criticised for that part of it. You already said that.’
Ms Daniels replied: ‘I didn’t think anything was going to happen, you know what I mean? Why would I assume this person was going to be half-dressed and outside a bathroom door when we had talked about his daughter, which people try to sexualize, and it absolutely wasn’t.
‘And he had shown me pictures of his wife and son. We were just talking about how cute he was. Not any different than if we showed pictures right now of each other’s kids.’
Morgan said Ms Daniels was ‘sharp and sassy on Twitter’ after she replied to someone saying Trump ‘wouldn’t touch you with a 10ft pole’ with the line, ‘True, he used a three-inch one’, which she called ‘one of my finest moments’.
She also revealed how Trump ‘straight-up told me he didn’t want to be president’: ‘He’s like, some people want me to become president. And I was like… he was like, why would I ever do that?
‘All the reasons I don’t want to be president. It sounds like a terrible freaking job. And he was like this is what — I don’t need the money. I have this. All valid points.’
Morgan interjected: ‘So, you just rolled your eyes?’ Ms Daniels replied: ‘Yeah.’
She added that she thought it was all ‘a publicity thing’: ‘Why not? He loves that s**t.’
The idea of the affair coming out on the eve of the 2016 election was ‘the f**king last thing I wanted’, she said.
Ms Daniels revealed she actually met former Playboy model Karen McDougall, the other woman said to have been paid hush money to cover up an alleged affair with the former president.
‘Funny story,’ she said. ‘He’s a player, man. He had me and Karen at the same Vodka party and introduced us and we shook hands.’
Morgan said: ‘Well that takes a brass neck. What did you feel about that?’
She replied: ‘Honestly? Kinda impressed.’
Asked what her feelings are about Trump, she said: ‘I don’t really hate anyone, and yeah, in a way, I do feel sorry for him. It wouldn’t surprise me if it would come out that he’s been manipulated a lot more than we think.
‘Or that based on the things that have happened to me in the last five years, things I thought would never be possible, there could be something that we don’t know.’
Morgan went on: ‘If he’s watching this interview and he probably is, knowing him. What would you say to him?’
Ms Daniels said: ‘I don’t know. I’m so torn between being snarky and, you know, don’t get lube in your eyes would be part of it, also still like just tell the truth. You know what I mean?
‘Like, you do have a daughter. You do potentially have granddaughters and women, you know, and if you continue to do this you are setting a precedent where people think that they won’t be held accountable and there will be… I’m afraid there’s gonna be a lot of people hurt.’
Trump denies having affairs with Ms Daniels and Ms McDougal as well as any wrongdoing concerning payments and has called the prosecution a ‘witch hunt’.
