The woman dubbed ‘Delta Karen’ for hitting an elderly man on a flight has had more of her past exposed, besides being a former Playboy model, NFL cheerleader and Baywatch actress. Patricia Cornwall threatened to kill her mother and stepfather and kidnap their children, according to court documents.
Cornwall’s stepfather Robert Spoeri filed a restraining order against her in July 2020, saying that she threatened them while living in their home.
In Spoeri’s restraining order application obtained by the Daily Mail, he wrote that Cornwall, 51, claimed she was the real mother of his two children, and that he was afraid she ‘might kidnap them when she has a delusional episode’.
‘Patricia Cornwall is the daughter of my wife Yolanda Spoeri,’ he wrote. ‘Patricia Cornwall has threatened to kill Yolanda Spoeri and Robert Spoeri. She has physically attacked and beaten Robert & Yolanda Spoeri.’
Robert, 71, a workers’ compensation judge residing in the Los Angeles area, wrote that Cornwall threatened his wife, who hid in the garage and had to spend the night at a friend’s place.
‘Patricia kicked me, punched me, threatened to kill me, jumped on me, pulled my hair very hard, pounded my head into the floor, and more, because I would not divulge where her mother was hiding,’ Robert claimed.
‘Her real goal was to do far greater injury to her mother.’
It was the second or third time that Cornwall was put in a psychiatric hold, according to Robert.
Robert asked that Cornwall be ordered to stay 100 yards away from him, his two 14-year-old children, his home, office, church and vehicle. He added that Cornwall was going to move to a place of her own and, ‘I am afraid to have Patricia come back to our house for even one night’.
Judge Susan Lopez-Giss granted a temporary restraining order on July 31, 2020 instructing Cornwall to not ‘harass, intimidate, molest, attack, strike, stalk, threaten, assault, hit, abuse, destroy personal property of, or disturb the peace of the person’.
Cornwall was nicknamed Delta Karen after she was recorded on a flight on Thursday from Tampa to Atlanta allegedly slapping and spitting at an 80-year-old fellow passenger who had his mask off while eating and drinking. Cornwall herself had her mask down to her chin.
According to federal court records, Cornwall was told by a Delta flight attendant with a beverage cart to take a seat until she passed, to which Cornwall said, ‘What am I, Rosa Parks?’
That prompted the elderly man sitting close by to tell Cornwall she’s ‘not black’, and, ‘This isn’t Alabama and this isn’t a bus’.
Cornwall was captured on video yelling at the man, ‘Put your f****** mask on!’
The man responded with: ‘Sit down, Karen’, the derogatory name for a woman who is usually white and acts privileged.
Cornwall was then seen slapping the man and saying, ‘You’re going to jail!’
She was arrested by the FBI upon deplaning and spent Christmas behind bars. She has since been released on bail.
Cornwall, a real estate agent, previously was a cheerleader for the Raiders when they were based in Los Angeles. She was also featured in Playboy: Cheerleaders and was an actress on Baywatch under the name patty Breton.
She also appeared on trading cards, one of which read: ‘Step right up and meet Bench Warmer Patty Breton! Hollywood has taken its chances with Patty, and boy has it paid off. In between her print and commercial jobs, Patty has co-hosted Fox Television’s “Comic Strip Live” and cheered on the “Silver and Black” as a Raiderette. Keep your eyes open for Miss Hollywood 1991 on stage, screen and magazine stand. It’s all fun and games with this Bench Warmer!’
