A ‘highly dangerous’ predator posed as a police officer to rape and rob two Brazilian sex workers in London.

Pawel Pazola, 51, threatened to arrest and deport the women before trying to force them to have unprotected sex.

Using a fake badge and a replica gun, he subdued his victims, both in their 20s, and raped them during two separate attacks.

In September, he was found guilty of two counts of rape, one count of robbery and one count of impersonating a police officer.

During the trial, the court heard how Pazola arranged sexual services with both victims, who did not know each other, via an escort website.

He met the first woman at a flat in Camden, north London, in August last year, were he ‘forced her to engage in sexual acts that went beyond their agreement’, the Met Police said.

She was fearful of reporting the attack in case she was arrested but found the courage to speak with a support worker from Rehab UK the following day.

Later, she also shared details about the horrifying ordeal on a Whatsapp group chat for other Brazilian sex workers.

Another member said she had a similar experience, just two weeks after the initial attack.

The second rape took place on August 22, 2020, at an address in Bayswaterm west London.

Again, Pazola used force to get the victim to carry out sex acts that she had not consented to.

The first victim encouraged her to report the assault to police, reassuring her that it would be taken seriously.

On both occasions, the predator pretended to be a police officer and threatened to deport the victims if they did not comply. In the second attack, he even produced a fake gun and police badge.

Detectives from Central North’s Serious Sexual Offences Team began an investigation and arrested Pazola on August 30 last year at an address in Crawley, West Sussex.

Upon his arrest, his home and car were searched, and an imitation police badge, a black replica handgun and £1,380 in cash were seized.

Pazola was sentenced to 14 years in prison after a two-week trial at Night

Sentencing him at a Nightingale court in Hendon, Judge Andrew Holmes described Pazola as a ‘dangerous sexual predator’.

The judge ordered that following his release, he must remain on licence for a further four years.

He will also be made subject to sex offenders notification requirement for life.

Detective Sergeant Sam Lockstone said: ‘Pazola is a highly dangerous predator who sought to take advantage of the victims’ perceived vulnerabilities for his own gratification and monetary gain.

‘I would like to praise the victims for showing such bravery and courage throughout this investigation and during the trial.

‘I am especially pleased that our supportive response to the first victim encouraged the second victim to come forward.’
