14 people killed and 18 injured after bus swerves off road

At least 14 people have died after a bus veered off a road and overturned in western Turkey.

Some 18 people were left injured in the crash in Balikesir province, and were being treated in five hospitals.

The governor’s office said the bus overturned at 4.40am local time.

Emergency units rushed to the crash site, where 11 people were pronounced dead.

A further three passengers died in hospital.

No other details were immediately available.
