Huge numbers of people across the UK have been left with no internet access after a provider reported a ‘major service outage’.
Plusnet says it is currently investigating the outage ‘as a priority’.
However the internet provider says it does not yet have an estimated fix time.
According to tracking website Down Detector, a deluge of complaints about a loss of internet connection began at around 4pm.
Plusnet’s X account has been responding to people with complaints about their service, telling one customer: ‘I’m sorry to hear your internet has gone down, we’ve been made aware of a mass outage that’s currently being investigated as a priority.
‘We don’t have an estimated fix time but are working hard to get this resolved quickly for you.’
