Ghislaine Maxwell, the former socialite who conspired with Jeffrey Epstein to sexually exploit underage girls, is reportedly writing a ‘tell-all’ memoir.
Maxwell, 62, was convicted in 2021 of conspiring with the disgraced financier and sentenced to 20 years in a low-security Tallahassee prison.
Insiders told the MailOnline that following recently released court documents that shed light on Epstein’s sordid misdeeds, Maxwell is keen to share her ‘truth’.
‘Max says the documents in the news are all false or misinformation. The truth will only come out when her book does,’ a source told the newspaper.
‘She’s bragging about how great it will be but it sounds like the same old lies she has told a thousand times.’
Sources claimed Maxwell doesn’t have access to a computer but can sit behind a typewriter at the prison library where she works to punch out her memoir.
The convicted sex offender could then mail the book to her lawyer or a loved one to get it distributed.
Insiders also described how Maxwell has become withdrawn and dishevelled behind bars, becoming something of a ‘Prison Karen’ who complains about the conditions of her jail cell.
The trove of court documents was unsealed by a New York judge in connection to a defamation lawsuit against Maxwell brought on by Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein and Maxwell’s victims.
The roughly 100 names in the paperwork – many of whom had simply been called ‘John Doe’ before – were less a rogue’s gallery and more a list of victims, associates or friends of Epstein.
Among them included Prince Andrew, who in 2022 settled a lawsuit lodged by Giuffre accusing him of sexual abuse.
Maxwell, the daughter of the British media mogul Robert Maxwell, used her and her longtime romantic and then platonic companion Epstein’s wealth and power to groom and exploit vulnerable girls, a court heard in 2020.
Between 1994 and 2004, Maxwell befriended the girls, offering them a ticket to a world of gold and glamour, to then bring them into a sprawling sex trafficking scheme.
‘It is the greatest regret of my life that I ever met Jeffrey Epstein,’ Maxwell said during her trial, stopping short of apologising or accepting responsibility for her pivotal role in the affair.
‘Jeffrey Epstein should have been here before all of you.’
