Passengers at Heathrow were rushed off a plane after reports of ‘unknown fumes’ on a British Airways flight from Barcelona.
Emergency services responded to the incident earlier today after the plane had landed in London.
Footage and photos posted online show several fire engines and police cars on the runway at Terminal 5, as dozens of passengers wait outside the plane.
No elevated chemical readings have been detected inside the aircraft, and no one is believed to have been significantly hurt in the incident, services said.
One person wrote they’d been ‘locked on a plane for an hour and a half’, while another tweeted: ‘Major police operation at Heathrow T5 tonight.’
