A six-year-old British boy has drowned in a hotel swimming pool while on a family holiday in Cyprus.
The youngster died after his mum found him unconscious floating in the water at their hotel in the resort town of Paphos.
Despite being rushed to hospital and placed on a ventilator his condition worsened.
Still unconscious, he was transferred to the Makarios Hospital of Nicosia for more treatment but he sadly died on October 6.
Local police said he was on holiday with his mum and younger brother at the time, The Sun reports.
Earlier this month a British man drowned after getting into difficulty while out for a swim at Sao Pedro de Moel beach near the town of Nazare, north of Lisbon.
A surfer went to his aid after seeing him in trouble but he died at the scene despite efforts to revive him.
His brother Dale paid tribute to him, describing the 41-year-old as his ‘best friend’ and a ‘beautiful person’ who was turning his life around after struggling with his mental health.
