It was only five years ago that Volodymyr Zelensky played a history teacher who accidentally becomes the president of Ukraine in a TV show.

In an unbelievable coincidence of life imitating art, the actor then won a real-life presidential campaign – and is now standing up against Russia in the face of an ongoing war.

But what if there were two of him?

A fishmonger from Naples, in Italy, has received a lot of attention on social media for his uncanny resemblance to Zelensky.

Gigi Pescheria, born Luigi Pisacane, has more than 1.2 million followers on TikTok and another 104,000 on Instagram.

Over time, he has become popular for his catchphrase ‘Buongiorno pescheria’ and humorous videos about his work.

But it was not long until people began pointing out the likeness, saying that Gigi is Zelensky’s doppelganger.

‘Good morning Mr President,’ comments read under his posts. One user joked: ‘I think he will soon be offered a job with us in Ukraine.’

Another comment said: ‘Volodymyr, you speak Italian so well!’

Though Gigi does not wear Zelensky’s statement clothing of olive-green top with the Ukrainian trident on the chest, cargo pants and work boots, the resemblance cannot be denied.

Some people pointed out that he resembles the Ukrainian leader not only in his appearance, but also in facial expressions and gestures.

His content even made it on Ukrainian news channels, and Gigi has since released a video welcoming the doppelganger claims.
