FTX founder Sam Bankman-Fried has been taken to jail for allegedly tampering with witnesses.

Cryptocurrency mogul Bankman-Fried had his bail revoked by a judge on Friday and was taken away in handcuffs.

US District Judge Lewis Kaplan sided with prosecutors who said that Bankman-Fried, 31, jeopardized his upcoming trial by leaking love letters from his ex-girlfriend Caroline Ellison to a journalist.

There is probably cause to believe that Bankman-Fried attempted to ‘tamper with witnesses at least twice’ since he was arrested in December for allegedly stealing billions of dollars from FTX customers to pay for his own companies and venture investments.

Bankman-Fried showed the private writings of Ellison, his former business associate, to a New York Times reporter and key witness against him, Kaplan said.
