‘Doomsday mom’ Lori Vallow Daybell in her sentencing hearing for murdering her two children said she has spoken to them in heaven and that they ‘are happy’.
Vallow Daybell, 49, spoke when given the opportunity by a judge on Monday afternoon. She was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of her kids Tylee Ryan, 16, and Joshua ‘JJ’ Daybell, 7, as well as conspiring to kill her husband’s ex-wife Tammy Daybell.
After putting on her glasses, Vallow Daybell read from her statement: ‘Jesus knows me and Jesus understands me. I mourn with all of you who mourn my children and Tammy.
‘Jesus Christ knows the truth of what happened here.
‘No one was murdered in this case. Accidental deaths happen. Suicides happen. Fatal side effects from medications happen.’
Vallow Daybell claimed she died while giving birth in 2002 to her daughter Tylee. As doctors worked on her, she said ‘I felt my sprit falling to the floor’ and that she watched her body.
‘Because of this experience, I have access to heaven and the spirit world,’ she said.
‘Since then, I have had many communications from people now living in heaven including my children.
‘I know for a fact that my children are happy and busy in the spirit world.
‘Because of my communication with my friend Tammy Daybell, I know she is also very happy and extremely busy.’
Vallow Daybell said that ‘Tylee is free now from all the pains of her life’ after suffering ‘horrible physical pain her whole life’.
‘I am the only person on this earth who knows how much Tylee suffered,’ her mother claimed. ‘Her body did not work right.’
Vallow Daybell said she has also communicated with JJ and that ‘he is busy, he is engaged, he has jobs that he does there and he is happy where he is’.
Tammy Daybell, she claimed, ‘is extremely busy helping her family, especially her children and grandchildren’. The Doomsday mom added, ‘I have a great love for Tammy.’
After Vallow Daybell spoke, Idaho Distrct Court Judge Steven Boyce read out her sentence. She was sentenced to life in prison without parole.
