A body has been found where two teenage boys went missing and have not been seen for nearly a week.
The body of an unidentified male was recovered from the East River in Harlem on Thursday, WABC reported. Police said that it appeared to be the remains of one of the missing boys, based also on the clothing.
Scuba divers with the New York Police Department were seen entering the river in the morning, according to the Mirror.
Several onlookers said they saw a body near the Madison Avenue Bridge and that it was pulled on shore.
Police have not identified the body.
The body was taken to Randall’s Island and will go to a medical examiner’s office.
Two teens, Garrett Warren, 13, and Alfa Barrie, 11, were last seen on Friday evening at a park near 143rd and Lenox streets.
