Police searching for five young people who disappeared after a night out in Cardiff have found three bodies.

Two others have been taken to hospital with serious injuries following what appears to be a car crash, Gwent Police said.

All five clubgoers had last been seen in Cardiff in the early hours of Saturday.

Three women, Sophie Russon, 20, Eve Smith, 21, and Darcy Ross, 21, had travelled there from Porthcawl.

They had made the trip in a Volkswagen Tiguan with two men, Rafel Jeanne, 24, and Shane Loughlin, 32, both from Cardiff, who were also reported as missing.

Following a search, police said the VW Tiguan had been recovered just after midnight in the St Mellons area of Cardiff.

Friends and family of three women and two men are appealing for help to find them after they went missing following a night out in the early hours of Saturday, March 4. It's understood their families have not heard from them since and are growing desperately worried. Sophie Russon, Eve Smith, and Darcy Ross, all 20 years old and from Newport, were at the Muffler bar and club in Maesglas in Newport on Friday evening before friends believe they headed to Trecco Bay in Porthcawl with Shane Loughlin and one other man who is also believed to be missing.
