A 15-year-old girl who went missing was discovered dead three days later at the football stadium of the high school she attended.

Adriana Davidson’s family reported her missing at 12.10am on Saturday, after last seeing or hearing from her on Friday morning. They said the tenth grader was going to Pioneer High School, but that she did not return to her home in Scio Township, Michigan.

A K-9 unit found her body around 1pm on Monday near the high school stadium.

‘Our sincere condolences go out to the friends and family of Adriana,’ stated the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office.

‘You remain in our thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank everyone for your assistance in spreading the word, sharing tips, and offering your support.’

The Ann Arbor Police Department stated that foul play was not suspected in Adriana’s death and that ‘we do not believe there is an active threat to the community’.

Police are investigating events around her death and an autopsy is being conducted to determine the cause.

Adriana’s brother, Anthony Lopez, said one of her best friends shared an alarming text.

‘The text messages between her and her friend are time-stamped at 12.26pm where she had texted my sister saying, “You straight?” and then Addy responded saying, “No,”’ Lopez told WXYZ.

Ann Arbor Public Schools Superintendent Jeanice Swift said the district was ‘deeply saddened’ by Adriana’s death and offered condolences to her family.

‘Please reach out and support each other. Remember that this hard news affects everyone differently. Sometimes it really hits hard even for students and staff who did not know Addy personally,’ wrote Swift in a letter to students, family and staff. ‘This is especially true now.’

Counselors and grief support teams were sent to campuses across the school district for the week.

‘I know that we all join together in the Ann Arbor Public Schools community today to extend our thoughts of loving support and deepest sympathy to the family and friends, teachers and to all who knew and loved Adriana,’ Swift wrote.
