A series of far-right posts on social media appear to give an insight into the beliefs of the suspect behind Sunday’s petrol bomb attack at an immigration centre in Kent.
Andrew Leak, from High Wycombe, in Buckinghamshire, is believed to have hurled homemade explosives at the Western Jet Foil site in Dover.
Police later discovered the 66-year-old’s body in the car park of a nearby garage.
Facebook posts on an account under the name of an Andy Leak, from the town of High Wycombe, contain Islamophobic comments as well as rants about people who claim benefits when they do not speak English.
One, shared on August 9, said: ‘The next time the job centre sanctions your money for not looking for enough work ask them about the thousands of people getting benefits cannot speak English and can not write English, how are they looking for work?
‘Unemployment benefits clearly state you cannot claim benefits if not looking for work, all of these people should be excluded from benefits.
‘You can clearly not look for work if you cannot read English or speak English, they are breaking the law, time to stand up.’
Pictures on social media also show Leak topless, with a plastic Halloween mask on his face.
In another, he can be seen wearing a Union Jack face covering.
Another one of his posts, from July 24, read: ‘All Muslims are guilty of grooming, they never spoke out because it wasn’t their daughters, f** animals wake up up.
‘They only rape non-Muslims that’s a religious hate crime are you f** stupid.’
The account also called for the abolition of the Royal Family, even before the death of the Queen.
On March 20, a post read: Prince Charles says he’s going to house Ukrainian refugees in one of his properties that belong to the British people, what about soldiers and members of the public sleeping in doorways?
‘Disgrace. End the royal family now.’
The investigation has now been taken over by counter-terrorism police, following initial inquires being lead by Kent Police.
Leak was described by North Thanet MP Sir Roger Gale as having ‘severe mental health difficulties’.
But authorities are yet to make a comment about his mental state or his motives behind the attack.
