A theme park visitor has been rushed to hospital after a ‘serious’ emergency on a rollercoaster, it has been reported.

Oakwood Theme Park in Pembrokeshire, south-west Wales, was evacuated after an incident on one of the rides.

A video shared on Twitter shows a Welsh Air Ambulance helicopter arriving at the scene of the small family park, which opened in the late 1980s.

Wales Air Ambulance were called to the amusement park this afternoon, the BBC reported.

Rhodri Mason, who posted the clip, wrote: ‘Very sad to see the air ambulance arriving at Oakwood Theme Park today.

‘Really hoping that everyone involved is okay and makes a full recovery.’

The nature of the incident is still unclear but a woman told the broadcaster it was ‘serious’ and happened on the park’s Treetops ride, which her family had been on.
