The stars of the ‘four lads in jeans’ meme have been immortalised with a statue.
It has been erected in the very spot where Jamie Philips, Connor Humpage, Kevin Rooney and Alex Lacey took an innocent photo during a night out which quickly went viral.
The tattooed pals, standing side-by-side in tight shirts and trousers, were ribbed for being stereotypically British, and their photo was shared millions of times.
Now an artist claims to have created a sculpture of them ‘akin to Greek statues of yesterdays’.
Tat Vision, whose real name is Well Douglas, said it would be unveiled outside All Bar One in Birmingham on Saturday.
The sculptor said he made the statue from women mannequins in tight-clothing, with added papier-mâché and PVA glue, covered in bronze paint.
He added: ‘I created the piece as a tribute to the four lads in tight jeans. I wanted to create a modern masterpiece akin to Greek statues of yesterdays.’
Mr Douglas, 34, said he had a ‘fair few’ late nights building the sculpture.
He went on: ‘I had a few problems with attaching limbs together and heads not drying properly, it took a few weeks to complete.’
An artist for four years, Well said he was inspired by the famous sculpture of footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, and ‘other weird mutated bronzes’.
