More than a half-dozen US Secret Service officers reportedly took two men into custody from a vehicle in a Washington, DC, neighborhood on Thursday morning and confiscated what appeared to be an assault-style rifle.

The vehicle was a black Ford sedan with Indiana license plates with Marine Corps Veteran lettering.

Video footage showed cops taking out military-style bags from the vehicle and emptying the contents on the trunk and the road. Objects that appeared to be body armor plates were photographed by officers.

The arrests occurred on the 1000 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW, in the middle of the upscale neighborhood that includes Georgetown University and popular shops, and is near the US Capitol.
