The Queen has postponed a diplomatic reception she was due to host at Windsor Castle on the advice of the Foreign Office.

Buckingham Palace made the announcement with the Queen having cancelled a number of engagements this week after testing positive for Covid-19.

But the move is understood to have been taken because of the conflict in Ukraine.

In a statement, the palace explained: ‘The Queen has accepted the Foreign
Secretary’s advice that the Diplomatic Reception at Windsor on Wednesday 2nd
March should be postponed.’

No further details about exactly why next week’s meeting was cancelled have been revealed.

But it comes amid international outcry at the invasion of Ukraine, with China’s diplomats failing to condemn Russia in a UN Resolution they abstained on earlier this week.

The Queen has been continuing ‘light duties’ after catching the virus, and has only faced ‘mild’ symptoms, according to Royal officials.

She is understood to be triple jabbed and will have access to the best medical care.
