A man in his 20s has died after a falling tree hit a pick-up van he was travelling in as Storm Eunice swept the country.
The accident occurred just before midday in Alton, Hampshire, as the county was lashed by 80mph winds.
Shortly before midday, the alarm was raised over the crushed Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and police, firefighters and paramedics rushed to the scene.
The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver, also a man in his 20s, was taken to Southampton General Hospital with serious injuries

Storm Eunice has now claimed at least four lives so far in the UK and Ireland, following warnings of flying debris and uprooted trees.
A woman in her 30s was killed in the London borough of Haringey as a tree fell on top of the car in which she was a passenger.
A man in his 50s also died this afternoon in Netherton, Merseyside after flying debris struck the windshield of the car in which he was a passenger.
The driver was left unhurt and no other vehicles were involved in the accident, police said.
Meanwhile a falling tree killed a council worker in County Wexford, Ireland, as he cleared up the debris left behind by the storm.
