For many, the new year doesn’t officially start until a few days after New Year’s Day – since January 1 might be spent watching films and sleeping off the excesses of Christmas and New Year’s Eve.
With normality and back-to-work approaching (sorry) you might be making a resolution to be more organised in 2022.
And, even though a lot of resolutions fail, you can keep organised with your various cards, gifts and other post bits if you pop these dates in your calendar or diary.
Here are the holiday dates Royal Mail services won’t be operating in 2022.
When are the Royal Mail holidays this year?
Whether you’re just going to make a note of when to send out any cards or gifts to arrive on time or you just want to pop them in your diary, here are the dates for the bank holidays and Royal Mail holidays in 2022.
- Monday, January 3 – New Year’s Day bank holiday
- Thursday, March 17 – St. Patrick’s Day (Northern Ireland only)
- Friday, April 15 – Good Friday
- Monday, April 18 – Easter Monday
- Monday, May 2 – Early May Bank Holiday
- Thursday, June 2 – Spring Bank Holiday
- Monday, August 29 – Summer Bank Holiday
- Monday, December 26 – Boxing Day
- Tuesday, December 27 – Christmas Day
When is the next public bank holiday?
Unless you’re in Northern Ireland, the next bank holiday isn’t until April for Good Friday.
Northern Ireland will observe St Patrick’s Day on March 17, but the rest of the UK will have to wait until April 15 for Good Friday.
