Star-studded concerts, unlocked private estates and history-making desserts are all on the cards for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration.

The full programme of events is unveiled today as the British monarch is weeks away from becoming the first to mark 70 years on the throne.

The historic landmark will be officially passed on 6th February 1952 – the date when she first acceded to the throne at just 25 years old, following the death of King George VI.

Her Majesty, 95, usually spends the anniversary privately at Sandringham.

But the monarch and the rest of the Royal Family will be out in full force for engagements across the year, before this culminates with the Platinum Jubilee Weekend in June.

It remains unclear which events the Queen will attend after she was ordered to rest following a night in hospital last October.

The bulk of the Jubilee duties are thought likely to be given to the rest of the Royal Family, including the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall.

Officially the programme will kick off this Monday as Fortnum & Mason launches the Platinum Pudding Competition to find a dish to dedicate to the Queen.
