The Duchess of Cambridge dazzled in an evening gown as she mingled with world leaders in Glasgow.

Kate Middleton had a great time offering a tub of dead larvae to Prince William and the guests at the Cop26 Earthshot reception last night.

She wore a custom blue Eponine coat dress and navy heels for the glitzy event, swapping the muddy outdoor outfit she wore earlier in the day.

William and Kate were described as a ‘real inspiration’ after meeting Scouts at a ‘green life’ workshop in Alexandra Park.

The couple repaired bicycles, made vegetarian burgers, and helped re-wild a grassy bank with the boys.

The duchess, who was a Brownie as a young girl, jokingly threatened to slap her husband’s face with her dirty gloves as they made wildflower seed-bombs with the youngsters.

While making the burgers, William asked the boys if they had ever tried one before and whether they liked them more than meat burgers.

Meanwhile, Kate, wearing a Scout neckerchief with a khaki gilet and black trousers, helped to prepare ingredients and asked them: ‘Do you get enough veg at school?’

Taking advice from one Scout about re-wilding, William, who wore a navy jumper and trousers, told him: ‘You’ve done this a few times before, haven’t you?’

‘You’re doing well. You’re leading us very well.’

Eddie O’Rourke, who supports Scout groups in Glasgow, described the royal couple as a ‘real inspiration’.

He said: ‘They were a real inspiration to all the Scouts who are working hard to make changes to protect the planet.’

Kate is the first woman to hold the role of president of the Scouts, which she shares with Prince Edward.
