Heavy rain has caused flash floods in parts of England and yet more downpours are expected this weekend.

Temperatures have also plunged by up to 10C and wind has battered parts of the country.

Some Brits may be tempted to put their heating on despite the rising cost of energy bills as it’s set to be bitterly cold and frosty.

A Tesco store in Manchester was flooded yesterday afternoon, leaving some customers stuck inside.

Friday began with torrential rain which will clear throughout the day, leaving spells of sun and showers.

The weekend will see rain spreading northwards and eastwards with persistent and torrential downpours.

Sunday will see blustery and heavy rain with gale force winds predicted in Scotland.
