Two people have been injured after an explosion blew out the front windows of a newsagent in Bedfordshire.
A street in Dunstable was evacuated as emergency services raced to the scene on Tuesday.
The two victims were taken to Luton and Dunstable Hospital with flash burns and minor injuries shortly after 11am.
The explosion is believed to have been caused by an electrical fan fire igniting lighter fuel cans.
Pictures show glass and debris scattered across High Street North as stunned locals looked on.
The area was closed off as an investigation was launched by Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A statement from East of England Ambulance Service said: ‘We sent an ambulance, one rapid response car and one Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) vehicle.
‘Two patients were transported to Luton And Dunstable Hospital for further care.’
A spokesperson for Centrebus said their vehicles were unable to stop at the bus stop by Asda in Dunstable due to the road closure.
