With COP26 just under a week away, Metro.co.uk is proudly kicking off our #Just1Change series.

Over the next two weeks and beyond, we will be sharing stories, ideas and advice about one common theme: The climate crisis.

At a time when the weight of environmental issues feels very heavy and overwhelming, our aim is to deliver content that will not only inform and educate but also offer hope and inspiration.

We know that right now it often feels like we’re fighting a losing battle when it comes to saving our planet, but we also know that by making just one change we can make a difference.

That’s why we’re also launching our Time to Shelve campaign today, taking the top supermarkets to task over their environmental habits.

After speaking to readers to find out what they think supermarkets still need to do when it comes to tackling climate change, we put their main concerns – waste, packaging and electricity – to the stores to find out what they are already doing, and what bad practices they still need to shelve.

On top of that, this week we will start our waffle-free handy guide to talking about climate issues down the pub, as well as sharing upcycling video tutorials, an indepth look at climate anxiety, and everything you need to know about recycling – and we really mean everything

We’ll also meet the young climate activists keen to follow in Greta Thunberg’s footsteps, while sharing inspiring stories of people who have already made that first step to helping the planet heal.

We want this series to leave you feeling hopeful instead of helpless and empowered not overwhelmed, when it comes to the climate crisis.

After all, it takes #Just1Change to make a difference – and we want to help you do that.
