Climate protestors have returned to the M25 for a third time and have tried to block major roundabouts.

Almost 80 members of Insulate Britain (IB) headed to Britain’s busiest motorway in Essex this morning.

The group said 79 people who were recently released from custody headed to Junction 18,

where the road meets the A12 in Brentwood.

A video from the scene shows police dragging people from the road and telling them ‘don’t move, you are under arrest’.

As one man is handcuffed and carried away, someone can be heard shouting ‘you can’t do that.. you are going to harm him’.

The stunt comes after 89 people were arrested for causing disruption to the motorway on Wednesday.

IB had warned police they would return and said officers were ‘ready and waiting’ for the campaigners.

They said police managed to prevent 12 out of 20 from making it onto the carriageway, but the remainder managed to get on and block access to it.

Elsewhere, blue paint was poured onto the road, which the activists hope will lead to further disruption.

Insulate Britain, an off-shoot of the climate change group Extinction Rebellion, want the government to better insulate properties and reduce emissions.

They have vowed to keep going until ministers make a meaningful commitment to their demands.

But Home Secretary Priti Patel – who has been accused of cracking down on protests through a controversial new policing bill – has slammed their actions as ‘selfish’.

Protesters sat in the middle of the road holding signs saying ‘please turn off your engine’ and ‘the police are on their way’.

Video showed road users visibly angered by the disruption, with lorry drivers heard shouting ‘we’ll lose our jobs’ at the activists around J23 South Mimms.

The rush hour chaos was also seen around Dartford, Kent, at J1a and J1b and between J8 Reigate and J9 Leatherhead, where demonstrators stopped traffic in both directions.

Dozens of people were also arrested on Monday, when five junctions of the M25 were blocked, leading to tens of thousands of drivers being stuck in huge queues of traffic for
